I’m Cindy. I love weddings …
… but not in a generic, fairy-tale kind of way. I love specific weddings, in all their individuality—the emotions, the excitement, the couples holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes, flower girls bickering with each other, guests hugging and reminiscing, sparklers burning, and friends and family tearing up before, during and after the ceremony.
I’m a newspaper photojournalist turned documentary wedding photographer
I’ve been photographing weddings in Atlanta—and beyond—for over a decade, but my roots are in documentary photojournalism. I approach every wedding like a visual love letter: honest, unscripted, and radically human.
I’m also a queer artist, former professor, and once-upon-a-time chaplain, which probably tells you a lot about how I see people—and why your story matters to me.

My wedding photography isn’t about stiff poses or tiny couples in a vast landscape, instead it’s about real laughs, happy tears, dance floor chaos, and all the beautifully messy in-between moments. (I love a good in-between moment.)
What about posed wedding photos?
I’m happy to take a few posed wedding photos.
… most of them of people laughing, some of them a little quirky and some perfect for your parents’ or grandparents’ wall of family fame.
A fake candid, what I refer to as a fandid, of Sarah and Jonathan taken at sunset on the Helipad atop Ventanas event venue downtown.
I’ll do all this super fast, so you can celebrate with friends and family.
And so I can concentrate on what I do best …
documenting what’s really happening.
I’ll take details and scene setters, as well, because they help tell the story of your day.
You tell me what’s important about your wedding day and I’ll be sure to capture images that will help you remember. If flowers are your thing, I’ll make sure you have lots of flower photos for posterity. If you’ve gone all in on a wedding cake that’s stunning, I’ll show it from every angle.
Otherwise, I’ll be looking for the tiny details that make your wedding day special.
